Frequently Asked Questions About Virtual Therapy at Starfish Wellness
Who do you work with, and what services do you provide?
You can currently receive individual therapy only. I work with adults who live in Illinois, Missouri, or Florida. I do not offer couples counseling, family therapy, or sessions for children or teens.
What should you expect from a virtual therapy session?
Your sessions happen online through a secure, HIPAA-compliant SimplePractice platform. After you schedule, you’ll receive a confirmation email with your video link. Just click the link at your appointment time to join from wherever you’re most comfortable.
How much time should you plan for each appointment?
Standard sessions are 50 minutes. If a shorter or longer appointment would better support your needs, I may be able to offer brief or extended sessions for established clients. Please reach out if you’d like to talk through your scheduling options.
Can you use insurance or request a sliding-scale fee?
I do not accept insurance or offer sliding-scale rates. My fees are consistent for all clients, and payment is due at the time of service. You can visit the Fees page for more details about pricing and billing.
What training and licenses support your care?
You’re working with a licensed clinical social worker who earned a Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2015. I hold active and unrestricted LCSW licenses in Illinois (149.020739) and Missouri (2026025620), and I’m also a registered telehealth provider in Florida (TPSW6963). For more information on Florida telehealth, you can visit https://flhealthsource.gov/telehealth/.
